Spálené Poříčí

The Spálené Poříčí Castle replaced the original Gothic fortress in 1617. The Renaissance sgraffito decoration of the courtyard and two unique sandstone portals have been preserved.

Near Spálené Poříčí, hidden in the middle of dark forests, you can find a unique depot. Dozens of nuclear warheads capable to destroy half of Western Europe were stored under tons of concrete. In between the years 1968 and 1990 not one citizen of the former Czechoslovakia was able to enter the site. Now it's the only nuclear weaponry depot in the world open for public.
